TIRANA, February 24 – The violence that two officers of the Montenegrin border police exerted on professor Petraq Milos has caused many reactions in the Albanian community in Montenegro.
Representatives of the political parties have said that the case should also be addressed at the joint meeting of the two governments that will be held next week in Podgorica.
The Deputy Mayor of the New Democratic Force, Ilir Çapuni, said that there has been a tendency to stop any kind of investigation regarding this issue and that this incident should be addressed on Monday when the two governments meet.
“The mistreatment of Professor Milo has left a bad taste even among citizens who say that this is a negative image of their country,” he said.
The two police officers were released by the court, but the prosecutor of the case in an interview for TV Klan on Friday while clarifying the dynamics of the event, said that the investigations continue and that other testimonies will be taken.
Faruk Resulbegu, District State Prosecutor in Ulcinj said that they will be tried in freedom and that Albanian citizens will be interrogated.
The event caused strong political reactions in Montenegro as the Albanian parties demanded the resignation of the Minister of the Interior, while the media condemned it, calling it a scandal that damages the country’s image. /Argumentum.al
