TIRANA, March 5 – The number of Albanians who lost their lives in the tragic accident in Greece reached 6. The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, published the names of the victims of this accident, as she also sent a message of condolence to their families on Sunday.
“Sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the tragic railway accident in Greece. So many lives cut in half so suddenly and so tragically! On this day of mourning, a special prayer goes out to the families of 6 of our compatriots who lost their lives in this accident: Klaudia Lato; Iphigenia Micka; Erieta Molko; Ioanis Xhiollas; Denis Ruçi; Pavlin Bozo,” said the minister’s message.
Albania’s national flag was flown at half-mast at all state institutions and Albanian embassies in the world in honor of the victims of this tragic event, most of whom were students.
On March 2, Prime Minister Edi Rama published the Government’s decision declaring the day of national mourning. “The tragedy of Greece is also our tragedy, the pain for the lives lost in the terrible accident is also ours and this is one of those moments in life, when a great loss to the neighbor shows more than a hundred joys that our lives are inextricably linked, and that we must do our best to make them as good as possible, cooperating more and more with each other,” said Prime Minister Rama.
“On Sunday, Albania will honor the victims of the tragedy with a day of mourning, symbolically joining friendly Greece with the national flag at half-mast,” concluded Rama. /Argumentum.al
