TIRANA, March 12 – The President, Bajram Begaj was received in a meeting by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the “Global Baku Forum”.
Begaj shared moments from this meeting in a post on social networks on Sunday.
“Our talks focused on energy issues and the region, as well as on the possibilities for further deepening of bilateral relations, especially in the field of economy and tourism,” said Begaj.
During the meeting, President Begaj expressed his belief that the spirit of cooperation and understanding that exists between Albania and Azerbaijan will advance the relationship between the two countries.
“The decisions we have taken to strengthen our cooperation prove that there is a very high level of friendship and fraternal relations between our countries. Thank you for coming to participate in the important event held within the X Global Baku Forum – the special session dedicated to the 100th anniversary of my father, President Heydar Aliyev. Thank you very much,” said Azerbaijan’s President.
Further he said that he was sure the Albanian President would have a great time during his stay in Baku. “This is an excellent opportunity to touch upon the important points of our fruitful bilateral cooperation,” said Azeri President Ilham Aliyev during the meeting with President Begaj. “The relations of friendship and partnership between Azerbaijan and Albania were emphasized in the meeting, as well as the successful cooperation and mutual support of our countries within international organizations was highly appreciated.”
During the conversation, ideas were exchanged on cooperation in the field of energy, the expansion of economic and trade relations, and the establishment of the embassy of Azerbaijan in Albania, as well as the establishment of the embassy of Albania in Azerbaijan were evaluated as a positive step in the direction of the development of bilateral relations.
