TIRANA, April 2 – The head of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, has stated that the agreement reached with former Prime Minister Sali Berisha for the May 14 local elections is a joining of forces to bring change to Albania.
In a meeting attended by the “Together We Win” candidate for the municipality of Berat, Meta said that monism must be eradicated in the May 14 elections and accountability and putting power at the service of citizens must be restored.
“The agreement with Berisha, union for change. The model we bring does not change with the transformation of the municipalities that serve the citizens, but we will continue with the referendums to restore the power to the Albanian people to have power over politics,” said Meta.
According to him, Albania is the first in Europe for asylum and then the countries at war follow and this is an unacceptable situation for all our efforts in the remaining weeks to realize the historical and long-term change, to elect the candidate of “Together We Win” in Berat.
“On May 14, let’s all root out monism and restore accountability and putting power at the service of citizens. I believe in this union and cooperation,” said Meta. /Argumentum.al
