TIRANA, April 5 – The US Embassy in Tirana has considered the accusations against Ambassador Yuri Kim to be slanders and lies.
A statement quoted by Vizion Plus TV on Wednesday said that this form of behavior is part of the old tactics, which are not worthy of a NATO country which aims at membership in the European Union.
“Defamation and lies against the US Ambassador are an old tactic that Albanians know, because it has been used against every ambassador as a way to attack US policy. These old methods are unworthy of a proud NATO ally, EU aspirant country, and close friend of the United States. These shameful remnants of the past must remain in the past,” the statement of the American Embassy said.
Earlier, the deputy of the Democratic Party (DP), Edi Paloka, said that Ambassador Yuri Kim supports Prime Minister Edi Rama because of the money, which according to him “she gets at the end of the month”.
“In 2021 we said 1000 things and ran away and destroyed the DP. This time we will by all means not allow the result of the elections to be decided by government pressure and money from the mafia and incinerators. Those who will do it will also account for it. Democrats and Albanians have reacted since a year ago. Mrs. McGonigal and all who serve Rama have received their answer. They aimed to eliminate the opposition,” said Paloka.
According to him, that phase has passed and the Democrats are in a daily battle with Edi Rama to remove him. “The lady (Yuri Kim) is waiting for the last installment, because she has been doing this since the first day she came, putting herself at Rama’s service because she gets something.
