TIRANA, April 14 – The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, who is on a three-day visit to Prstina, during which they signed the agreement for air services between Kosovo and Montenegro.
After the signing of the agreement on Friday, Kurti said that this is an important and necessary step for regulating the airspace between the two countries, as according to him the agreement with Montenegro enables the shortening of air routes and flight time by 15 minutes.
Among other things, he emphasized his gratitude to the Montenegrin state, which during the last war in Kosovo became a shelter for many refugees from the country.
“I had the pleasure of welcoming Prime Minister Abazovic to the meeting, and we talked about the good neighborly relations between the two countries. Montenegro recognized Kosovo in 2008. We are grateful that in more difficult times Montenegro became a refuge for over 100,000 citizens of Kosovo, who were expelled by the Milosevic regime,” Kurti said.
In the meantime, he said today, the citizens of Kosovo have not only spent their holidays on the coasts of Montenegro, but are also important investors who contribute to the economic connection between the two countries. “Today we work closely as two neighboring states to promote peace and security,” the Kosovo PM emphasized.
Montenegro’s Premier Abazovic is paying an official visit to Kosovo and during his three-day stay in that country his agenda includes many meetings and other activities. /Argumentum.al
