TIRANA, April 15 – The head of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, held a speech to candidates and supporters at the “Air Albania” stadium, where it was launched the election campaign for the May 14 local elections by the coalition “We win together” on Saturday.
Meta said that because of the experiences, he thought it was time to run as there are 29 more days to end the absolute monism in local government. “I often wonder, finally after 4 years we demolish what no one thought or imagined in Albania, a NATO member country, 100% pro-European. It is a country where illegally a clique controls in absolute way the entire local government, not only with the mayors but also the councilors,” Meta said, adding that it is not time for change, but for revolution.
According to him, the candidates of the coalition are the most legitimate that the history of Albania has known and the democrats gathered in this great arena of freedom on a cold day like that of December 11 for freedom, political pluralism and democracy.
“Let’s appreciate our power of democracy and that is the vote; only it makes the change. Let’s all go to the polls, vote for the victory of these wonderful candidates and the geography of our victory will be extraordinary,” said Meta in his speech in the meeting. /Argumentum.al
