TIRANA, April 18 – The head of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Ilirjan Celibashi closely observed the process of testing electronic voting in the city of Elbasan and according to him the process is completely safe and guarantees the secrecy of the vote.
Celibashi guaranteed 100% secrecy of citizens’ vote in a statement to the media on Tuesday.
He said that in Elbasan, Kamze and Vorë the voters of these municipalities will vote through the electronic voting device.
“The device guarantees all safety. Neither the CEC nor the company that manufactures these devices have the opportunity to identify the citizen’s vote and this is important,” CEC head said.
Also, Celibashi said that this system prohibits family voting, since only one voter can appear in front of the device.
“We have brought some equipment to create opportunities for voters to familiarize themselves with the voting process in Elbasan at three points, in Kamzë at two points and in Vorë at one location. These devices will remain until 5 days before the elections. I invite the political parties, the media to encourage citizens to come and test the use of this device,” said Celibashi. /Argumentum.al
