TIRANA, April 27 – The Chairman of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, has stated that the fact that Prime Minister Edi Rama chooses to focus his campaign for the May 14 local elections on his figure and former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, is an insult to the citizens.
Meta said that he and Mr. Berisha are not candidates in these elections, but that they will be in the general elections, which according to him will be held very soon after the May 14 elections. Meta said Rama may not even run in the snap general elections.
“He only honors us, he does not insult us. He insults the citizens because I am not running. Berisha and I will run in the elections that will be held very soon after May 14. It is not known if he (RAMA) will run,” said Meta.
Asked about Rama’s comparison of Meta and Berisha as appendicitis, Meta said: “I am not offended by a man who is not normal, who refuses to take a drug test.” /Argumentum.al
