TIRANA, May 9 – The State Police announced on Tuesday that despite the very difficult terrain and bad weather with fog and snow, the Police services found the dead bodies of two tourists, the Belgian citizen B. M. and French citizen J. B, who had fallen in an abyss in Valbona mountainous area, Tropoja.
The alpine team of FNSh Shkodra immediately started to help the police services, since due to the very difficult terrain and bad weather, the police officers who were at the scene, could not get the bodies of the victims out of the abyss. Even the helicopter could not land in the place where the tourists were found dead because of the bad weather. In order to enable the removal of dead bodies, the local and border police services, as well as the alpine squad, are cooperating with Civil Emergencies and the Ministry of Defense, said the announcement of the police.
The investigative group of the Kukës Local Police Directorate is at the scene and under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, is working to clarify the circumstances of this event and to determine the cause of the loss of life of the two tourists. /argumentum.al
