TIRANA, May 10 – The Chairman of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, reacted after the statement of Prime Minister Edi Rama that the Democrats should go to sleep and not go to the polls on May 14.
In a press conference on Wednesday, Meta said that boycotting the elections means that Rilindja (Renaissance) will continue to remain in power and steal the state budget.
“Rama is very clear about his disastrous balance sheet and the puppets that he imposed on all the municipalities. This forces him not only to be out of mind, but also to call for the lowest possible participation in the elections and especially to appeal to the Democrats to go to sleep on May 14, as he said yesterday in Kavaja. How can the democrats and all honest Albanians sleep, when they have most of their children abroad and those who have them here because of insecurity want to leave the country as they don’t want to end up like patronazhists,” said Meta.
According to the FP head, there will be no sleep in these four days, and we will even make the night a day.
“Today I want to ask all citizens to fulfill their obligation, not only civic, not only constitutional, but above all patriotic in these critical moments to express their free will and to understand that abstention is not a solution, it is the biggest help given to a gang to continue looting Albania, taxes and the state budget. Everyone must become part of the change. The one who doesn’t vote has no right to complain tomorrow, even worse the one who trades his vote,” stressed Meta. /argumentum.al
