TIRANA, May 17 – The leader on duty of the Democratic Party (DP) faction, Enkeljed Alibeaj, said in a press statement on Wednesday that the May 14 elections had serious problems, starting from vote buying, the use of gangs or strongmen.
At the same time he announced that as a sign of reflection he has decided to leave the leadership of the party and also the leadership position of the parliamentary group.
However, he emphasized that one must first start from oneself, from the division within DP to understand what went wrong and what was not done well.
“We must seriously analyze the effects of the division and how to work with the grassroots of the party. As a sign of reflection and responsibility, I have decided to leave the leadership of the party and also the leadership position of the parliamentary group,” Alibeaj said.
According to him, DP should be reorganized in a capillary way. “The party must have new rules, new principles, to separate from the past of Berisha (Sali Berisha) and build an alliance with potential for 2025,” Alibeaj said. /argumentum.al
