TIRANA, May 22 – With a changed look, sporty and with a beard, former minister Lefter Koka appeared for the first time in the Special Court as a defendant, together with Alqi Bllako and Arben Dervishaj, who had kept their pre-arrest appearance wearing a suit and collar as persons under investigation regarding the Fier incinerator file, according to a report by TV Klan on Monday.
Arben Dervishaj and Arenc Myrtezani had the biggest debates in this session, who asked for incompetence and transfer of the file to the district court and invalidity of the act-expertise conducted for the Fier incinerator.
Myrtezani, through the lawyer, told the court that all the documentation signed by him is forged and SPAK has not done any verification for this.
Meanwhile, Dervishaj, against whom the charge was changed during the preliminary hearing, requested that the case against him be tried in the Court of Tirana.
The rest of the defendants, including Koka and Bllako, had the only request for a shortened trial.
The Special Court said that it will announce the decision on May 29. Koka, Blako and 16 other defendants are accused of corruption, money laundering and abuse of office in the Fier incinerator case. /argumentum.al
