TIRANA, May 24 – The General Secretary of the Freedom Party (FP), Tedi Blushi, has said that “the conclusions of the “Freedom House” organization clearly confirm the coherent positions of the opposition and the Freedom Party that Albania has slipped towards a hybrid regime and a “corrupt junta” for years.”
In a press statement on Wednesday, Blushi emphasized that in Albania, the justice reform has failed. Basic justice for many citizens is missing, access to it has worsened and according to experts, “the judicial system is on the verge of collapse”.
Blushi said that, “according to “Freedom House”, all these problems “have created distrust in justice”. Regarding the new judicial map, we share the same concern that, “reducing the number of courts will harm citizens’ access to justice and will increase the cost of the judicial process as some citizens will have to travel over 200 kilometers to go to court.”
Further, Blushi stated that, “we fully support the conclusion of the report, which shows that “Corruption remains widespread, contributing to the dysfunction of the public institution and limiting its ability to provide effective services. Political influence on the judiciary in corruption cases continues to be a concern.”
According to the report, Albania is under a regime where organized crime has reached the highest state levels, where impunity has become a system and SPAK still does not have the will to seriously investigate the affair of the incinerators, said Blushi.
He concluded by saying that the escalation of the opposition action in the municipal councils, the restoration of transparency for every penny paid by taxpayers in every municipality of the country will start immediately. “There is no surrender or capitulation before the state mafia, before the narco-state and all its collaborators wherever they are,” Blushi said. /argumentum.al
