TIRANA, June 13 – Although the chairmanship of the Democratic Party (DP) decided to hold the elections for the chairman on July 29, Gazment Bardhi, who in addition to the position of the head of the Parliamentary Group also holds that of the Secretary General, warned that any decision-making in violation of the statute nullifies the process. According to him, the decision of the majority of the chairmanship should be presented to the highest leadership forums of that political force.
“The DP National Council will have to be convened. I have asked the chairmanship for such a meeting, but I received an informal answer that will not be collected. If it doesn’t happen, then we won’t have an election for the party chairman on July 29,” he said.
He sees the revival and reorganization of the party only if the process starts from the rank-and-file and not from the election of the chairman.
Bardhi said that he has no complex to sit down with anyone for talks on behalf of the union of the democrats, even with Sali Berisha, but he does not see the future of the Democratic Party as connected to specific individuals.
