TIRANA, June 16 – The government has approved the draft law on the control and processing of cannabis for medical and industrial purposes.
The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, in a statement after the government meeting on Friday, said that “The National Council concluded that 61% of the citizens answered positively to the question about the initiation of this initiative. The work has started in several ministries.”
The purpose of this draft law is to regulate and guarantee the process of control and supervision of the cultivation, production and export of the cannabis sativa plant, by-products and final products for these purposes, which are well defined by law, Manastriliu stressed.
According to her, a very important point that this draft law foresees is the establishment of a special register of licensed and permitted entities, which will be a register accessible by all relevant state structures, making this process controlled, monitored by the state with specific conditions and criteria and also based on the best suggestions of Albania’s partners. /argumentum.al
