TIRANA, June 19 – The head of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, has strongly attacked the Constitutional Court regarding its decisions, such as the one regarding the Port of Durrës.
In a post on “Facebook” on Monday, Meta said that the Constitutional Court is openly positioned on the side of the government for this project, which according to him has disastrous consequences for the country’s economy.
“With its decision, the Constitutional Court was openly positioned on the side of the most serious corrupt robbery of 2 billion euros by ” “Renaissance” (Socialist Party) with catastrophic consequences for the country’s economy,” he said.
Meta added that this is simply a construction project of buildings where the apartments are sold in advance of construction.
“The most important property from the strategic and economic point of view of Albania will be given to shell companies with hidden owners. So, with unknown owners, with unknown funds and whose origin is unknown. It is not a strategic project! This is simply a construction project of buildings and apartments where the apartments are sold in advance of construction,” said Meta.
According to him, the European Parliament has expressed its concern by declaring that it is scandalized by the contract of the Port of Durres, with a company from the United Emirates even though this contract violates the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the EU and despite the previous warnings of the Parliament and the European Commission.
“No court decision can clear up this mafia affair, which is and will remain an open account with the Albanian people!” said FP head. /argumentum.al
