TIRANA, June 21 – The chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha said in a meeting with the parliamentary group on Wednesday that an international investigation by the UN is needed on the developments of the police operation in the Mujahedin camp of the MEK, as well as the activities of the members of that community in Ashraf 3 Camp.
“We need an international investigation, specifically an investigation by the UN that has them under supervision. Also, the perpetrators of violence must appear before the court. How was he (MEK member) killed? Those who broke the bones of refugees should face the law. They said spray, but the spray doesn’t break bones. An investigation is necessary to bring out the abusers of human rights,” said Berisha.
Another topic touched upon by him was the law proposed by the DP parliamentary group for the living minimum.
“There should not be an Albanian who does not have 200 euros per month. This is a strong blow on misery, but also on poverty. 1.3 million to 1.5 million Albanians would benefit. We will defend this, we promised during the electoral campaign,” he said.
Berisha concluded by warning of protests as he recalled the case of the scandal in the municipality of Kukës, adding that such events should activate the “nerve of the Albanian protest”. /argumentum.al
