TIRANA, June 23 – The challenge of the Albanian lawyer, Eva Buzo, who lives in Australia, to swim across the channel of Otranto from Italy to Albania was interrupted only 10 miles from the Albanian coast.
She stopped a few miles from the Karaburun Peninsula due to health problems after about 28 hours of non-stop swimming.
Eva was taken to Vlora Hospital. Doctor Edmond Breshani told about her condition when she arrived. “Currently she is in a stable condition, she is a little tired, but the indicators are normal.”
Eva Buzo took this initiative to get to know her country of origin better, but also to give a message against human trafficking and to raise funds for refugees.
She is the first woman who chose to swim across the channel of Otranto. Eva Buzo, who is passionate about swimming, has had such adventures before. /argumentum.al
