TIRANA, July 9 – The Democratic Party (DP) headed by Sali Berisha reacted regarding the appointment of Taulant Balla, Minister of the Interior through a press statement released on Sunday, saying that PM Edi Rama made a change at the top of power on Saturday by demoting Rrahman Rraja as deputy and promoting him as Minister of the Interior a few hours later.
Taulant Balla, the new Interior Minister appointed by Rama, is only a “presta nome” for the Rraja gang and for all gangs in Albania from Elbasan to Shkodra, said the DP statement.
DP considers this appointment as “part of the pact made by Rama and Balla with the criminal gangs for the May 14 elections.”
“How will Taulant Balla trace or arrest the deadly gangs of Elbasan, when he results in the interception of the intelligence services of the allied countries as their close collaborator?” said the statement.
In conclusion the opposition party said that for DP the name and surname do not matter: it can be Taulant Yaris, Taulant Gurra, Taulant Rraja or Taulant Balla, but each of them is Edi Rama’s means to keep alive the ties of power and crime. /argumentum.al
