TIRANA, July 13 – The Conference of Chairmen convened on Thursday in the Assembly deciding that the special session for the evaluation of the request of the Special Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, SPAK for the arrest of MP Arben Ahmetaj, will take place on Friday at 10:00.
After the opposition’s insistence in Thursday’s parliamentary session, which was characterized by the usual harsh debates in plenary sessions of the Assembly that was suspended four times by the Speaker, Nikolla, the Conference of Chairmen convened and decided that the Assembly would meet in a special session on Friday at 10:00 and not next Monday as requested by the majority.
According to the decision, the majority and the opposition will present their respective reports on the SPAK request during the special plenary session.
The Democratic Party has submitted its report demanding that the Assembly pave the way for SPAK to control the apartment and arrest former Deputy Prime Minister and MP Arben Ahmetaj. In the meantime the majority will present its report on SPAK’s request on Friday.
On Wednesday, the Council for Regulation, Mandates and Immunity approved the request of SPAK for giving authorization from the Assembly for the arrest and control of the residence of the deputy of the Assembly of Albania, Arben Ahmetaj. /argumentum.al
