Albania registered 705 new cases of coronavirus, while the number of victims was high with 17 people having lost their lives on Wednesday, a figure which is five more victims as compared to the previous day.
Currently 484 patients are being treated in 4 COVID hospitals as 38 are in intensive care while 13 patients are on ventilations, according to official data released by health authorities.
Meanwhile, 528 citizens have been cured in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cured patients to 19,912 since the beginning of the epidemic in March this year.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic 39,719 affected cases have been recorded, while active cases are 18,968. The death toll has risen to 839 and the sharpest increase was registered in November.
The Ministry of Health repeats the similar appeal to citizens to avoid any kind of gathering, to limit unnecessary contacts and movements in order to curb the spread of COVID19. “We remind citizens of the necessity to respect the rules of physical distancing, wearing the mask in any environment outside home and taking care of hygiene,” it is said in the statement of the health ministry. /argumentum.al
