Albania remains committed to further strengthening the friendship and strategic partnership with the United States, FM Olta Xhaçka is quoted to have told the US Deputy Secretary of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, Philip Reeker during a telephone conversation on Friday.
Minister Xhaçka praised the US for its continued support in Albania’s path towards the EU, while emphasizing that the country
has met all the conditions for the approval of the negotiating framework and the holding of the First Intergovernmental Governmental meeting with the Union.
She briefed Deputy Secretary Reeker on the measures taken to guarantee free and standard elections on April 25, 2021.
The focus of the conversation was also the bilateral political, economic and regional cooperation, while Chief Diplomat Xhaçka said that Albania remains committed to further strengthening the friendship and strategic partnership with the United States.
In this framework it was recalled that the year 2021 marks the 30th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between Albania and the United States of America which were reestablished on March 15, 2021 when the Memorandum of Understanding between representatives of the two governments was signed at the State Department in Washington. /argumentum.al
