TIRANA, October 2 – The damage that cyber attacks have caused to police systems in the normal functioning of the latter is best shown in the most recent event recorded in the police station of Gjirokastra, southern Albania.
On Wednesday evening, Gjirokastër police services stopped a person traveling with a luxury vehicle “Benz G class”. After the verifications, they found that the vehicle lacked documentation, which made them start the procedures of blocking it, but the police had no information on the driver, reported TCh on Sunday.
Despite the fact that he gave them the documents in the absence of the ADAM system, the police did not realize that the person driving the car was a high-risk person convicted of attempted murder and at that moment had broken the “house arrest” security measure. While the police were doing the procedures to block the vehicle, the convicted driver disappeared without a trace. Top Channel learned that the person who escaped from Gjirokastra police is Fredi Keta.
Only after they had the photo of the driver of the luxury vehicle in their hands, the Gjirokastra police were alerted and after consulting with other local directorates, they realized that the person standing in front of them had broken the security measure of house arrest. After receiving the alert from the Girokastra, the Kamza police searched the apartment of 37-year-old Fredi Keta and after not finding him, declared him wanted.
