TIRANA, September 6 – Some 28 MPs of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party (DP) have addressed the Constitutional Court with a request for the abolition of the boards of setting prices of fuels.
According to the DP, Albanian citizens have been facing price abuses for several months, and that it is one of the 10 countries in the world with the highest price of oil, gas and gasoline. Although the poorest in Europe and the region, Albanians have faced the abusive prices of oil, gas and gasoline
Deputy Dhurata Cupi said that the Board set up to keep the price under control has turned into the ‘Oligarchs’ Club’, where the oil oligarchs in the Board set the price as well.
“It is a fact that the Board set up to keep the price under control quickly turned into the Oligarchs’ Club, where the oil oligarchs who are in the composition of the Board also set the price,” she said.
According to her, every citizen has seen how the Club of Oligarchs constantly mocks; every time that the citizens react it lowers the price by 2 lek, and the next day increases it by 12 lek.
“The establishment of the Board is harming the interest of the citizens. The laws contradict the Constitution, violate economic freedom, violate competition in the market, deepen the poverty of the citizens, steal even more citizens,” said Cupi. /Argumentum.al
