The Ministry of Health announced that 658 new cases of Covid-19 were registered after 6527 tests in the last 24 hours. This figure marked another record of new cases on Saturday. More than 5000 active cases have been declared over the last two weeks.
Worried over this situation, the Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu appealed to the citizens to be vaccinated.
“The increase in cases of daily infections, hospitalizations and the passage of over 5000 active cases of Covid-19 in the country requires from each of us the responsibility to protect health for ourselves and others by being vaccinated as soon as possible,” she said.
The minister called on people to respect public health protocols which clearly define the measures to be implemented in every environment and activity. Wear the mask, keep social distance and wash your hands were her advises.
In the meantime Manasterliu called on Albanians to use the days of the open month of mass vaccination. “Even on weekends you can be vaccinated in vaccination centers across the country,” the minister wrote on Facebook.
But she did not say any word about large gatherings organized in the country like the one in Korca, southeastern Albania, which is a business activity where as it’s shown on TVs thousands of people gather in large crowds. /argumentum.al
