TIRANA, June 9 – The Speaker of the Assembly of Albania, Lindita Nikolla, received the delegation of the Committee on Budgetary Affairs of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Assembly of China, headed by the Chairman of the Committee, Shi Jaobin, who is paying an official visit to Albania.
Speaker Nikolla appreciated the friendly and traditional relations with China, expressed confidence in the further intensification of these relations in matters of mutual interest, as well as appreciated the very important role of China as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, an announcement released by the press office of the Assembly said on Friday.
Supporting the intensification of economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries, Nikolla expressed the will of the Albanian Assembly to promote this cooperation in various fields, such as energy, tourism, technology, infrastructure, agriculture, etc., as well as for increasing Chinese investments in Albania, making better use of the existing mechanisms, such as the Joint Economic Commission and the cooperation agreements signed and those in the process.
The Albanian Speaker pointed out that parliamentary cooperation is an important dimension to strengthen the ties between the two countries.
The senior member of China’s Assembly, Shi Yaobin thanked Nikolla for the reception and noted that during the visit and meetings in Albania he found the common desire to promote bilateral cooperation, which is based on the traditional friendship between our two peoples.
Jaobin pointed out that the rapid growth rates of the Chinese economy are an important potential for increasing economic and commercial cooperation with Albania.
He conveyed to Speaker Nikolla the greetings of the Chairman of the National People’s Assembly of the People’s Republic of China, Li Zhanshu, and his invitation for an official visit to China. /argumentum.al
