TIRANA, April 26 – At the invitation of the Prosecutor General, Olsian Çela, the Prosecutor General of Croatia, Zlata Hrvoj-Šipek, made an official visit to Albania, accompanied by Snježana Frković, Deputy Prosecutor General and Tonći Petković, Deputy State Prosecutor in Zagreb.
The cooperation between the two prosecutor’s offices in the fight against criminality, with a special focus on cybercrime and the cleaning of the proceeds of crime, was the main topic of the talks.
In 2007, the two prosecutor’s offices signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fight against transnational crime and the laundering of proceeds of crime.
The data show a high level of legal assistance in the criminal field between the two countries, and 48 letters of inquiry have been sent to each other and 4 extraditions have been carried out over the last 3 years.
The General Prosecutor of Croatia and the accompanying delegation held meetings with the Chairman of the High Council of Prosecution, Alfred Balla, as well as the Head of the Special Prosecution Service (SPAK), Altin Dumani. /Argumentum.al
