TIRANA, October 15 – The Minister of Economy and Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, held a meeting with the undersecretary of the International Trade Administration, Marisa Lago, in Washington, USA.
During the meeting, Ibrahimaj and Lago talked about strengthening trade relations between the two countries, the Albanian minister said in a post on social networks on Saturday.
“We shared the interests and attention that the Department of Trade has as an agency under the Department of State for the development of sectors of interest in Albania, such as energy and the development of information technology,” she noted.
Minister Ibrahimaj was on a visit to the US, where she participated in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) group.
During the meeting with senior IMF officials, Ibrahimaj guaranteed that Albania will continue to work closely with the mission in order to implement reforms, maintain macro-economic parameters, as well as for fiscal good administration.
The Minister did not say if the attempt of the government to apply the fiscal amnesty and the so-called golden passports were discussed which are two issues rejected officially by the EU. /Argumentum.al
