Albanian Speaker Gramoz Ruçi has expressed support on behalf of Albania for Bosnia and Herzegovina for sovereignty, territorial integrity and progress in Euro-Atlantic processes in a meeting with the visiting Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Bisera Turković, an announcement by the press office of Parliament’s press office said on Friday.
Ruçi praised the good and friendly relations between the two countries. “Albania remains ready to intensify political cooperation in all areas, such as increasing mutual investments, trade exchanges and cooperation in important sectors of the economy, such as energy, infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, etc. Albania has always been on the side of Bosnia and Herzegovina and will continue to strongly support sovereignty, territorial integrity, social cohesion as well as its progress in the Euro-Atlantic processes, being determined against any destabilizing and rhetorical “separatist” efforts that come from inside and outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he said. In addition, the Speaker expressed support of Albania for the Euro-Atlantic integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the mosaic of security architecture in the Balkans and beyond, and is ready to offer its experience in this regard.
In the meantime, Ruçi expressed his gratitude to the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Džaferović and Komšić, who put on the table of the Presidency of this country the proposal for the recognition of Kosovo’s independence and encouraged the continuation of these efforts in September 2020 despite opposition of the Serbian member of the Presidency, Milorad Dodik.
Deputy PM and FM of BiH Bisera Turković thanked Speaker Ruçi for the hospitality. “I am amazed by the progress that Albania has made. Thank you for Albania’s support for Bosnia-Herzegovina’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, social cohesion and progress towards Euro-Atlantic integration. Our internal situation is turbulent and resembles a rough sea, but we are confident that we will move confidently towards development, progress and the European Union,” said Turkovic. /argumentum.al
