TIRANA, August 24 – The Speaker, Lindita Nikolla, congratulated the President of the “Verkhovna Rada” Ruslan Stefanchuk on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Act of Independence of Ukraine on Thursday.
Nikolla said that the announcement of the independence of the modern state on August 24, 1991 is celebrated in the harsh conditions of Russia’s aggression.
“Albania has been and will be in support of the people’s just struggle for the protection of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the friendly state of Ukraine,” she said in her message.
Tirana is wearing the two-color Ukrainian national flag on this historic day for the country that is facing Russian aggression today.
The mayor, Erion Veliaj, who has also posted photos of the capital that stands in solidarity with Kiev, said in a post on social networks that Albania will support the Ukrainian people in this fight for the defense of independence.
“Happy Independence Day to the people of strength, dignity, hope and democracy, the people of Ukraine! We are proud to continue our support to Ukraine in the fight for the defense of independence,” Veliaj said. /argumentum.al
