TIRANA, October 1 – The powerful explosion outside the interior ministry located at a district in Ankara home to several other ministries and the Turkish parliament was harshly condemned by Albania’s highest officials, conveying support to Turkey in the fight against terrorism.
President Bajram Begaj has expressed solidarity for the Turkish people and government in a post on social networks on Sunday, while strongly condemning the terrorist act in Ankara, where two policemen were injured.
“I share the great concern about the terrorist act that happened in the surroundings of the Turkish Parliament in Ankara today, when as a result there were several injuries from the ranks of the Turkish police forces. I express my unwavering solidarity with the Turkish people and government for the forceful punishment of terrorist acts of all forms, which bring concern and chaos to civil order and tranquility and beyond,” said Begaj.
For his part, PM Edi Rama said in a post on “X”, formerly “Twitter”, that the terrorist attack in Ankara is a disgusting and cowardly act that Albania strongly condemns.
“It (the attack) should help many in Europe to better understand and support Turkey in its fight against terrorism,” declared Rama.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, condemned the terrorist attack in Ankara on behalf of the Assembly of Albania.
In her message the Speaker, Nikolla expressed to the Turkish people, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and its Speaker, Mr. Numan Kurtulmuş, solidarity and strong condemnation of the terrorist attack in Ankara.
Further she said that Albania has been and will remain a worthy ally of our strategic partners in the fight against terrorists and terrorism, as a danger to freedom, democracy, security and peace. /argumentum.al
