TIRANA- There are two people affected by COVID-19 in Albania as revealed by the Health Ministry late at night on Sunday. Sources quoted by local media said that the affected persons are father and son who had come from Florence, Italy, to Albania. “The state of the patients is stable having no complications,” said ministry’s revelation.
Earlier Albanian President Ilir Meta had called for urgent maximal strengthening of sanitary-epidemiological preventive measures in this Balkan country bordering Italy which has turned into a ‘red zone’ place.
“It is emergent the maximum strengthening of sanitary-epidemiological preventive measures because the situation in Italy, but also the increasing spread in Greece, two countries with which we have the most intensive exchanges, imposes the application of “Red Zone” measures, like those taken in Italy, the application of all limitations and actions that this regime requires, as well as the taking of energetic organizational and monitored, 24 hours in 24 measures,” said Meta’s appeal. The Head of State called for engagement of all scientific human qualities, but also of those with experience in the field of epidemiology and hygiene, be they even outside active service.
In the meantime it is reported that PM Edi Rama will gather his government cabinet on Monday morning, the first since the outbreak of the epidemics, during which as sources say line ministers will report on the situation in Albania, which has been alleged to be the last affected country by COVID-19./argumentum.al
