TIRANA, September 4 – Prime Minister Edi Rama has reiterated the support of the governing majority to the work of the justice bodies during his speech at the National Assembly of the Socialist Party (SP) on Monday, referring to the case of imprisoned elected Himara Mayor Fredi Beleri.
The government head underlined that the government does not interfere in the work of the justice bodies, but supports them unconditionally in the activity against corruption and organized crime.
“Whenever it comes to the activity of these bodies and especially SPAK, look carefully at what is being discussed between us and Greece, or what the Greek side is asking from us, from the government, from me personally. Why does this happen and how is it possible? As they say, our political will should solve, as they think, an issue for which these new bodies of justice have taken their actions and made their decisions independently of us,” said Rama.
The Prime Minister said that “we have no real debate with the Greek side about the essence of the issue. I touched upon this because this approach of the Greek side actually shows that the new upside-down relationship between our political power and justice is going through a very strong test.” /argumentum.al
