One month before the parliamentary elections, the Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi has delegated the competencies for the management of this key government institution to the Deputy Minister, Besfort Lamallari.
Çuçi is running for deputy of the Socialist Party in Gjirokastra, southern Albania,
and is third on the list, which has led to the delegation of competencies until after the elections. The decision states that Lamallari will exercise his powers from March 25 to April 30 this year.
The decision published in Official Gazette on Tuesday said: “Delegation of competencies of the head of the Ministry of Interior to Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Besfort Lamallari, from 25.03.2021 to 30.04.2021.”
The question raised by some analysts is if such a move will be followed by other ministers who are also in the lists for deputies in the new parliament as for example FM Olta Xhacka who runs Albanian diplomacy in these delicate moments for the country. /argumentum.al
