TIRANA, June 16 – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán paid an official visit to Albania at the invitation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the main event of the agenda were the talks between the two government heads on Friday.
Prime Minister Rama held a face-to-face meeting with his Hungarian counterpart, which was followed by a meeting with two delegations.
In the framework of the cooperation between the countries, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary for the development of greater cooperation in the field of European integration.
The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Water Management was also signed between the Water Resources Management Agency of Albania and the Ministry of the Interior of Hungary.
At the joint press conference, Rama said that Hungary is one of the most vocal advocates of the Western Balkans in the EU and one of the most progressive forces in relation to EU enlargement.
Rama noted that Orban’s visit to Tirana confirms the continuation of the new path of cooperation started between the two countries.
“This is the visit of an old and steadfast friend of Albania and Albanians at all times. Thanks to Prime Minister Orban and the commitment of the Foreign Minister and his government, we have entered a new phase of traditional friendly, but now also economic relations between the two countries,” said Rama.
The Prime Minister said that the high-level visits between the two countries confirm the healthy and positive state of relations between the two countries. /argumentum.al
