The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) is inviting bids in a tender for the upgrade of a 47.1 km rural road between the village of Zgosht and Ura e Cerenecit area in the eastern part of the country, it said.
The bidding deadline is December 28 and the construction works have to be completed in 6 months from the start, ADF said in a tender notice on Monday as reported by SeeNews on Tuesday.
The assignment is part of a project for upgrade works on local and regional roads in Albania and is financed with the proceeds of a $50 million (42.1 million euro) loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The project aims to facilitate tourism development, support closer economic regional integration and enhance road safety in the EU candidate country, according to the EBRD.
The ADF is a public agency whose mission is to encourage a sustainable, balanced and cohesive socio-economic development at local and regional level. The ADF was established at the beginning of 1993, based on an agreement between the Albanian government and the World Bank.
