Albanian President Ilir Meta has condemned the recognition of the two separatist regions of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine as independent entities by Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin told the leaders of France and Germany he plans to sign a decree recognizing the two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine as independent entities, the Kremlin said on Monday.
“This unilateral act is a serious violation of international law, of the Minsk agreement, and undermines the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine,” President Meta said in a post on social networks on Monday.
In conclusion Meta stressed that Albania stands united with partners and allies in support of Ukraine.
Putin’s scheme to recognize separatist regions in Donetsk and Luhansk was also condemned by Albanian foreign ministry which said in a statement that this is a violation of international law and the Minsk agreement. /argumentum.al
