TIRANA, August 30 – The General Secretary of the Freedom Party (FP), Tedi Blushi, declared on Tuesday that Albania has the highest number of prisoners compared to the countries of the Western Balkans.
In a statement to the media, the Secretary General of the Freedom Party, Blushi said that Albania ranks with 179 points while North Macedonia with 103 points, Kosovo with 93 points and Bosnia and Herzegovina with 83 points according to the “World Prison Population” organization.
Blushi stressed that “the government fills the prisons with ordinary people in trouble and not with the real heads of corruption, organized crime, traffickers and money launderers.”
According to Blushi, only the open and uncompromising fight against corruption could prevent the bankruptcy of Albania and restore hope to the citizens, who are being forced to leave the country.
“Freeing Albania from corruption and state capture is today our decisive interest and priority,” said the senior official of the Freedom Party.
