“Recently, Albania led the initiative of the US Adriatic Charter (A5), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and will now lead the Black Sea Economic Cooperation,” has said alternate 2021 Foreign Minister Gent Cakaj.
He made that comment addressing the video conference held with the Foreign Ministers of the participating countries of BESC on Friday.
The meeting focused on discussions on jointly fighting the pandemic and the ongoing effort to strengthen regional links, said a press release issued by foreign ministry.
Albania will be holding the rotating Chairmanship of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation for the first six months of 2021.
High on the agenda of the meeting was the discussion of jointly response to the COVID19 pandemic and the ongoing effort to strengthen regional links.
Albania’s senior diplomat Cakaj stressed that the assumption of BESC chairmanship is proof not only of the growing strength of Albania in regional initiatives, but also of the international partners’ growing trust toward the skills of Albanian diplomacy. /argumentum.al
