The Foreign Ministry has called on Albanian citizens to leave Ukraine given the escalation of the conflict with Russia. In an official statement, the Ministry advises Albanians not to travel to Ukraine. “The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs is closely following developments near the Ukrainian border. Given the credible risk of escalation of the situation, the MFA advises not to travel to Ukraine,” the statement said.
The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs also calls on Albanian citizens to leave Ukraine as soon as possible.

Albanian citizens are invited to be informed through the communication channels of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
Such an appeal to Albanian citizens was also launched by President Ilir Meta on social networks on Friday.
Many NATO countries have already withdrawn their diplomatic missions and their citizens are urged to leave Ukraine.
Albania does not have diplomatic mission in Kiev.
Western media, particularly the US press, continue to echo the alarm on an imminent attack by Russia while French President Macron had reportedly a ‘tense’ conversation with his Russian counterpart Putin which lasted for two hours on Saturday.
