Albania’s Speaker Gramoz Ruçi received on Monday Ragmi Mustafa, chairman of the Albanian Democratic Party and deputy mayor of Presevo, who presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation for his contribution in support of the rights and future of the Albanians of the Presevo Valley.
Mustafa informed the Speaker on the situation of Albanians in the Presevo Valley as well as the efforts of Albanian political parties and local government bodies to respect and protect their rights from Serbia.
Mustafa also called for increased Albanian and Kosovo support for Albanians in that area.
Ruçi thanked Ragmi Mustafa and the Albanian Democratic Party for the honor they paid to him and noted that the Albanian Parliament has been and will be the protection of the rights of Albanians in the Presevo Valley.
“It is important that the political forces and local government bodies in the Valley, regardless of political differences or other issues, be in full coherence and unity between them on the national issue and the rights of the Albanian population there. The same should be done by the institutions of Albania and Kosovo as well as the diplomacy of both countries,” Ruci said.
Ruci has declared that he will withdraw from the political scene in September when the new parliament starts its deliberations. He will also relinquish his mandate as deputy which he got in the April 25 elections. / Argumentum.al
