“Religion and faith are reasons for hope. God has a message of hope to life, it is the message of Mother Teresa to convey great love for Albania. It’s a surprise to me in this young age but I’m convinced that the church is held by the people’s religion, pope Francis is held by the people, we’re not alone in the church, we feel the power of God,” said Monsignor Arjan Dodaj, the new Archbishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Tirana-Durrës.
In an interview on ‘News24’ TV on Monday, Monsignor Dodaj stated that social problems will always be accompanying and that the Catholic Church with many missionaries has given messages all over the world.
“We must open our minds to discover the undiscovered treasures in the value of the family in Albania. There are treasures that may come to light,” he said just a few hours after the announcement was released on his appointment.
“It is important not to lose sight of the fact that the pandemic has not passed, each of us must be careful. Life is a gift, if we do not save life we can not even serve religion,” he said.
Accordng to Dodaj, one person has the ability to release new energies, the message is not to knock on another’s door, but it is good to have more commitment to each other.
“It has been a few days since I have been given my appointment. I preferred to make this decision public on the feast of St. Andrew. Albania has always been a bridge between east and west, we have religious unity and harmony,” he said.
Monsignor Arjan Dodaj also had a message for Albanian politics emphasizing that politicians must listen to the conscience of the people and the voice of God.
“Albanian politics needs to discover in itself the existence of God. The message is to hear more of our conscience and the voice of God. Religion and belief are reasons for hope. Jesus gives us the hope we lack,” concluded Monsignor Arjan Dodaj. / Argumentum.al
