TIRANA, July 9 – Some 55 migrants were rescued in the Aegean Sea after the dinghy they were sailing on got into trouble.
The ship of the Albanian Navy “Butrinti” in cooperation with a Greek ship and a Turkish ship have made possible the rescue of 55 migrants in the waters of the Aegean Sea.
The news was announced by the Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, who said that the Albanian military showed their unwavering commitment to preventing the loss of lives and their willingness to help in emergency situations.
“The ship ‘Butrinti’ once again showed high professionalism in its mission in the waters of the Aegean Sea. Together with a Greek ship and a Turkish ship, the team of the ‘Butrinti’ ship rescued 55 migrants from a raft in difficulty,” the minister said in a post on social networks on Sunday.
