For the third day in a row, protests were organized against the increase of prices of fuels and goods of the ‘basket’ in Tirana on Friday. Part of the wave of protests were also students. They called for a mass protest on Saturday saying they are in a state of distress from government neglect.
“Students today are in a state of distress. Scholarships have not been awarded for 5 months. Shame on the rulers. They want to increase the price of an urban ticket to 80 lekë, ”said a professor.
Meanwhile, the actor, Florian Binaj was again part of the protest, who accused the government of using its spies to vomit bitterness against this protest.
“Instead of reflecting on the protest, they have mobilized all the spies and serviles to vomit against the protest. We have the president (Ilir Meta) and the prime minister (Edi Rama) that we do not like. We have come here for our dignity. When you look at all these people here, can you (governors) be quiet?”
Meanwhile protests took place across the country throughout Thursday and Friday, where citizens blocked the main road axes.
It should be recalled that on Thursday the protest was tense where over 20 citizens were accompanied for blocking the road and for gathering without permission in Tirana. According to the police, the protesters had not received permission to organize the protest, while they blocked the Boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit” for several minutes.
