TIRANA, August 19 – Democratic Party MP Tritan Shehu has commented on the invitation addressed to President Bajram Begaj by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who will gather on August 21 the leaders of the region and the EU, but has not invited Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama because the invitation is at the presidential level.
In a post on Facebook on Sunday, Shehu said that the absence of Albania at Mitsotakis’ informal dinner is a direct consequence of Rama’s arbitrary and anti-democratic actions, as the DP deputy warned of worsening relations between Albania and Greece.
Below full post:
Rama damages the country with political adventurism! The absence of Albania at the informal dinner of Mr. Mitsotakis is a direct consequence of Rama’s anti-democratic actions.
We must be honest and face the truth. This is true, and I am afraid that things will get worse, damaging our relations and our role in the region and consequently damaging our European integration process.
It is a consequence of the deterioration of relations with friendly Greece as a consequence of the “Beleri case”.
This is an indicator of the serious deformation of democracy, of basic rights in our country where there is a dangerous autocracy. /argumentum.al
