The government has stated that economic growth of Albania in the second quarter of 2021 is 17.9 percent compared to last year. This was made public by the number two of the governmen’t Arben Ahmetaj on Thursday which was questioned by economic specialists. So the Economic Expert Pano Soko told a local TV on Thursday that it is not real growth, as in 2020 there was a pandemic and therefore any comparison with this year is not worthy.
“The comparison for growth is that with years when the shops and firms were closed. There has been no effective growth compared to Albanian economy. We are back in 2019,” he said.
However, according to the expert, the fact that there has been a pandemic and an earthquake it should be said that it is a good thing that the economy of this Balkan country is performing well.
“A lot of money has been spent on medicine and this is something to worry about,” said Soko.
It is also a component of the election campaign, when huge amounts of money were used during the electoral campaign.
“The year 2020 does not have to be analyzed at all, because we were closed. The competition authority is a paper tiger,” said Soko. / .argumentum.al
