TIRANA, November 18 – The Minister of Finance and Economy, Ervin Mete, participated in the ministerial “Strengthening the socio-economic convergence between the European Union and the Western Balkans for accelerated integration in the EU”, which took place in Skopje, North Macedonia.
In this ministerial, the new growth plan for the Western Balkans was presented, which includes 6 billion euros in grants and loans.
In his speech, Mete expressed gratitude on behalf of the Albanian government to the European Union for the new Growth Plan, as a support that comes at a critical moment for the region and Europe.
The minister said that this support will serve as an impetus for the continuation of reforms by the countries of the Western Balkans and the promotion of the instruments that are currently in process.
On the other hand, he emphasized that the countries of the Western Balkans should show themselves to be able to make the best use of the instruments that will be offered by the new Growth Plan and strengthen their institutional absorptive capacities. /argumentum.al
