TIRANA, June 15 – The President, Bajram Begaj, has condemned the kidnapping of three Kosovo policemen by Serbian forces in a post on social networks on Thursday saying that this is a serious act, which risks destabilizing not only Kosovo, but the entire Western Balkans.
“The kidnapping of three Kosovo Police officers inside Kosovo territory by Serbian troops is a serious provocative act for the destabilization of Kosovo and the entire region. I strongly condemn this act and appeal to the Serbian authorities for the release of the Kosovar police officers,” said Begaj. In addition the president called on international partners to intervene and discourage other similar actions.
“I make a fraternal appeal to the Kosovo authorities, not to fall prey to provocations and to make their contribution to the de-escalation of the situation, and coordination with the US and the EU to return to the dialogue table is extremely important,” said Albanian President in his first reaction on the dangerous provocation of the Serb military against Kosovo. /argumentum.al
