TIRANA, February 9 – President Bajram Begaj has expressed his indignation over the serious act of violation of media employees and encouraged the law enforcement bodies to follow this flagrant case of violation of free speech with high responsibility.
“I learned with regret about the threat with weapons, the detention and the violence against the filming group of the show “Fiks Fare”, during the performance of their investigative and denunciation mission in the village of ‘Nikël te Krujës’,” Begaj said in a press release on Thursday.
He expressed his indignation over this serious act of violence against media employees, and declared his support for the “Fiks Fare” show in its mission, the courage and professionalism it has shown in the public denunciation of corrupt phenomena which disturb Albanian society.
Begaj stressed that the threat to the lives of journalists in the exercise of their duties should not be tolerated in a democratic society. /Argumentum.al
